Here are answers to common questions about ClipClone, a cloud service for making unique versions of videos in batches: how to get started, which videos work, what changes in copies, how their differences are checked, how minutes are counted and how to activate a plan.

Getting started

What is ClipClone?

ClipClone is a cloud service for making unique versions of videos in batches, built for SMM. You upload a clip, choose how many copies you need and download the copies that passed the uniqueness check.

Each copy differs slightly from the source and from the other copies: cropped edges, rotation, color, speed, sound and file data. Viewers see the same clip, but the files are different.

Processing runs on the server, so your computer isn't loaded, and once the video has uploaded you can close the page. Learn more on the “About ClipClone” page.

Who is the service for?

SMM specialists, agencies and creators who need to publish the same clip many times: on several accounts, on different platforms or in different ads.

Instead of editing each version by hand in a video editor, you get the number of different copies you need in one run.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. A new account comes with a free trial: 5 free minutes. That's enough for about 10 copies of 30-second clips — enough to try the service.

Trial minutes are given once and don't renew. During the trial, 1 video is processed at a time and there are no overage minutes: when the minutes run out, activate a paid plan to continue.

How do I log in or sign up?

Login and sign-up are passwordless, with three options:

  • Telegram. Click “Log in” on the site and choose Telegram: our bot sends you a code, enter it on the site. The code is valid for 5 minutes.
  • Google. Click “Log in” and sign in with your Google account.
  • Email. Click “Log in”, then “Log in with email”, and enter your address — you'll get an email with a code from login@clipclone.app. The code is valid for 10 minutes.

On your first login an account is created automatically with a free trial: 5 free minutes. Google and email with the same Gmail address lead to the same account. If you've logged in before, choose the same method, otherwise a new account will be created.

Never share the code from the bot or the email with anyone: ClipClone staff never ask for it.

Is ClipClone available in Telegram?

Yes, through the bot @clipclone_app_bot. It works in two ways:

  • App. The “Open ClipClone” button opens the same dashboard as on the site, right inside Telegram, and logs you in automatically. It's the same account you use when logging in to the site with Telegram.
  • Chat. Send a video up to 20 MB (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or M4V), choose the number of copies and a preset, and tap “Run”. Copies up to 50 MB arrive in the chat as videos; the whole set comes as an archive via the “Download archive” button. Larger files and detailed settings are in the app.

Commands: /new — new project, /projects — recent projects, /balance — plan and minutes, /faq — questions and answers, /help — how it works, /support — Support, /menu — menu with buttons.

A new account created in the bot gets the 5 trial minutes when you first open the app.

How do I make my first copies?

Everything happens on the “Create” screen, where the settings read as one sentence: take [videos], make [N] copies of each and change them with a [preset].

  1. Click “Choose videos” or drag files onto the page. Up to 10 videos per run.
  2. Set how many copies you need of each video: from 1 to 1,000.
  3. Choose a preset. If you're not sure, leave “Optimal”.
  4. Check how many minutes will be used and click “Make N copies”.

Once started, the project page opens and shows the processing progress. Step-by-step instructions are in the guide “How to make many versions of one video”.

Do I need to keep my computer on?

No. Videos are processed on the server. Once the files have uploaded, you can close the page or turn off your computer.

The result will be waiting for you in “Projects”. You can also work from your phone, in a mobile browser.

Uploading videos

Which video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and M4V, as well as a ZIP archive containing such videos. Each video in a ZIP counts as a separate source video.

Finished copies are saved as MP4 or MOV — you choose this in “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “File quality”.

What is the maximum file size?

Up to 2 GB per upload. If your files are larger in total, upload them over several runs. Compress a file larger than 2 GB in a video editor first, or split it into parts.

Why can I upload only 10 videos per run?

Every plan except the custom plan allows up to 10 videos per run. This way every copy gets compared with its neighboring copies in time, the upload stays within 2 GB, and the shared queue doesn't hold up other customers' tasks.

  • The check isn't delayed. We compare each copy with the source and with 100 neighboring copies. 10 videos with 100 copies each is 1,000 copies, and checking them causes no noticeable delay.
  • The upload doesn't break off. 10 clips of 100–200 MB each fit within the 2 GB limit.
  • The queue is fair. Processing servers are shared, and the limit keeps one run from taking over the whole queue.

Videos inside a ZIP count separately: an archive with 15 clips is 15 videos. If you need more than 10 videos at a time, the custom plan fits: up to 50 videos per run on dedicated servers.

How many copies can I make of one video?

From 1 to 1,000 copies of each video. For example, 10 videos with 100 copies each is 1,000 copies in one run. You see how many minutes this will take before you start.

Can I turn a horizontal video into a vertical one?

Yes: choose the “Strong + vertical” preset. It extends each copy to the vertical 9:16 format (1080 × 1920) with a random background, so every copy has a different background. You can turn on the same in any preset: “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “Vertical format”.

Learn more in the guide “Unique video versions for Reels, Shorts, TikTok and VK Clips”.

Can I start while the video is still uploading?

Yes. Click “Make N copies” right away: processing starts as soon as the upload finishes. Don't close the page while the files are uploading — once they're uploaded, you can.

Copies and presets

What exactly changes in each copy?

Changes are chosen at random within the limits set by the preset, so the copies differ both from the source and from each other.

  • Frame: cropped edges, scale, micro-rotation, slight frame movement.
  • Color and noise: color correction, a barely visible noise texture; in the “Strong” presets — a color filter and animation over the frame.
  • Speed: clip tempo, variable speed.
  • Sound: pitch within ±1.5% or tempo without distortion, depending on the preset.
  • File data: metadata, encoding parameters, file hash.
  • Format: in the “Strong + vertical” preset, each copy is extended to 9:16 with a random background.

The storyline, on-screen text, voice and music stay the same.

Which preset should I choose?

A preset is a set of all processing settings. There are four built-in presets:

  • “Standard” — light color correction, cropped edges, micro-rotation, noise texture. Sound: pitch ±1.5%.
  • “Optimal” (recommended) — tuned by measurements: stronger noise and frame movement, variable speed, sound changes only in tempo.
  • “Strong” — the most changes: color filter, animation over the frame, a mix of codecs. The changes may be noticeable.
  • “Strong + vertical” — like “Strong”, plus each clip is extended to 9:16 with a random background.

If you're not sure, pick “Optimal”. If some copies fail the check, try “Strong”. The check thresholds of each preset are in the guide “Presets for unique video versions”.

Can I adjust the changes manually?

Yes. On the “Create” screen, click “More settings”, then “All processing settings”. The sections there are: “Picture”, “Sound”, “Text on video”, “Logo and overlays”, “Frames”, “Animated overlay”, “Vertical format”, “Background”, “File data”, “File quality”, “Uniqueness check”.

By default everything is already set by the selected preset — change settings only if you need to. Changed settings are marked with a number next to the section, and “Reset to preset” undoes the changes.

For a project that has already been created, settings are changed with the “Edit settings” button on the project page: the new settings apply to copies that haven't been made yet.

How do I save my settings for a client?

Set up processing in “More settings” and click “Save as preset”. Next time, choose it in the preset field on the “Create” screen, under “My presets”.

All your presets are in the account menu under “My presets”. There you can edit, rename or delete them. Projects that already used the preset don't change. A logo uploaded in the settings is saved together with the preset.

Can I add a username, a caption or a logo?

Yes. “More settings” → “All processing settings” has the sections “Text on video” and “Logo and overlays”.

  • Text: up to 20 captions, the area of the frame where they may appear, opacity, size, colors, display time. Each copy gets its own position and style.
  • Logo or overlay: PNG, JPG, WebP, as well as MOV, MP4, WebM and GIF with transparency. It can be a small badge in an area of the frame or cover the whole frame.

What does “recording device” in the file data mean?

Each copy gets the data of a clip shot on a phone: a model from a list (iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, OnePlus) and a shooting date set automatically to 3–4 days ago. For iPhone you can add a geotag of a chosen country.

All copies in one project look as if they were shot on the same device. You can change it in “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “File data” → “Recording device (for this project)”.

Will the video quality suffer?

The changes are chosen so that viewers see the same clip. The uniqueness check also watches quality separately: if the picture is damaged — PSNR below 12 dB — the copy is marked “Low quality” and is left out of the archive of unique copies, and the service makes a replacement for free.

With the “Strong” preset the changes may be noticeable. You can set the bitrate and codec of the copies in “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “File quality”.

Uniqueness check

How do you check that copies are unique?

We compare each copy with the source and with 100 neighboring copies in the project. Thresholds of the default “Optimal” preset (they're the same in “Strong” and “Strong + vertical”):

  • Frame structure (SSIM): no higher than 0.88 against the source, no higher than 0.92 against neighboring copies.
  • Frame fingerprints (pHash and dHash): difference from the source at least 8 of 64, from neighboring copies at least 5 and 6.
  • PDQ fingerprint: difference from the source at least 55 of 256, from neighboring copies at least 35.
  • Picture quality (PSNR): no lower than 12 dB.

A copy counts as unique only if it passes all of these. The scores of each copy are shown on its card in the project. What the metrics mean is explained in the metrics glossary.

Why did a copy fail the check?

The reason is shown on the copy's card:

  • “Too similar to source” — there weren't enough changes, and the copy is too close to the source video.
  • “Too similar to another copy” — it nearly matches one of the neighboring copies.
  • “Low quality” — the changes are too strong and the picture is damaged.

Such copies are marked and left out of the archive of unique copies; we don't recommend publishing them. What to do: on the project page, click “Make N more copies” and the service will make replacements. If there are many such copies, choose a stronger preset or loosen the thresholds in “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “Uniqueness check”.

What happens to copies that fail the check?

The service makes replacements on its own: instead of a copy that failed, a new one is created, until each video has the required number of unique copies. The total number of attempts is at most 5 times the number of copies ordered.

Replacements are free: minutes are charged only for copies that passed the check. The exception is when you manually made the check thresholds stricter than in the built-in presets — see “Can I change the check thresholds?”.

Can you guarantee that a platform won't treat a copy as a duplicate?

No. Only the platforms themselves know how they compare clips, and the platform decides what gets shown in the feed.

We measure how much each copy differs from the source and from neighboring copies in frame structure and in digital frame fingerprints, and we leave out of the archive of unique copies anything that came out too similar. What the platforms themselves say about duplicates is covered in the guide “Unique video versions for Reels, Shorts, TikTok and VK Clips”.

Can I change the check thresholds?

Yes: “More settings” → “All processing settings” → “Uniqueness check”. There you'll find the thresholds for SSIM, pHash and dHash, PDQ and PSNR, and the number of neighboring copies to compare against — from 0 to 100. You can also turn the check off (“Check every copy”), but then the copies won't get the “Unique” mark.

The stricter the thresholds, the more copies may fail. Replacements for failed copies are free, but if you make the thresholds stricter than in the built-in presets (for example, a pHash difference from the source above 15 of 64 or SSIM similarity below 0.80), such copies are charged like regular ones. The PSNR threshold doesn't apply if a frame, a full-frame overlay, a full-frame animation, a background or the vertical format is on: they change the frame on purpose.

How can I see how a copy differs from the source?

Open the project and click a copy. Its card has a slider: drag it to compare frames of the source and the copy. Below are the check scores of that copy.

Projects and downloads

Where can I find finished copies?

In “Projects”. Each run is a separate project with a name, date, status and number of finished copies. You can search projects by name and sort them.

Open a project to see the copies, their check marks and the download buttons.

How do I download copies?

Open the project in “Projects”.

  • All unique copies in one archive — the “Download N unique · ZIP” button.
  • Only the ones you need — click “Select”, tick the copies and click “Download selected”.
  • A single copy — open it and click “Download”.

Only copies that passed the check go into the archive. You can download a copy that failed separately with “Download anyway”, but we don't recommend publishing it.

Why did the archive link stop working?

The archive download link works once and is valid for 5 minutes, so that nobody else can download the archive.

If the link has expired or the download was interrupted, just click the download button in the project again: a new link will be created.

Can I stop a task?

Yes. On the project page, click “Stop”. Copies that are already finished are kept, and minutes are charged only for them.

How long are copies stored?

Copies and projects are kept until you delete them. You can delete individual copies (select them in the project) or a whole project from the project menu.

Deleted copies and projects can't be restored.

How do I rename a project or make more copies with the same settings?

Open the project and open the project menu: it has “Rename”, “Edit settings”, “Make more with these settings” and “Delete project”. It's handy to name projects after the client, for example “Coffee shop: spring”.

To use a project's settings in future projects, open “Edit settings” and click “Save as preset”.

Will you let me know when the copies are ready?

Yes, in Telegram — if you log in with Telegram. When a project started on the site is ready, the bot @clipclone_app_bot sends a “Project ready” message with the number of unique copies and the buttons “Send copies to chat”, “Download archive” and “Open in app”.

The task status is also shown on the site: in “Projects” and on the project page. Once the upload has finished, you can close the page and come back later — the copies will be waiting in the project.

Minutes and plans

How much do the plans cost?

Monthly prices:

  • Free trial — free, 5 minutes once, 1 video processed at a time.
  • Solo — 2,990 ₽ instead of 3,990 ₽, 750 minutes, 3 videos at once, overage 5 ₽ per minute.
  • Pro — 7,490 ₽ instead of 9,990 ₽, 3,000 minutes, 6 videos at once, overage 3.5 ₽ per minute.
  • Scale — 17,990 ₽ instead of 24,990 ₽, 12,000 minutes, 10 videos at once, overage 1.5 ₽ per minute.
  • Custom — priced individually, from 24,990 ₽: more than 10 videos at a time and more than 12,000 minutes.

Paid plans currently have a 25–28% discount: the prices above are the discounted and the previous ones. If you pay for a year, you pay for 10 months. All terms are on the “ClipClone pricing” page.

How are minutes counted?

By the length of the finished copies that passed the check. A 30-second clip in 20 copies is 10 minutes. 4 clips of 30 seconds in 10 copies each is 20 minutes.

The length of each copy is rounded up to a whole second, and the monthly total up to a whole minute. You see how many minutes a run needs before you start it. Minutes are charged for each finished copy: if you stop a task, only the finished copies are charged.

Do unused minutes carry over to the next month?

No. Paid plan minutes renew every billing month; the balance doesn't carry over. You can see the renewal date in your dashboard, on the “Plan & minutes” page.

Trial minutes are given once and don't renew.

What happens if I run out of minutes?

On paid plans you can keep going: overage minutes are charged at your plan's rate (Solo — 5 ₽, Pro — 3.5 ₽, Scale — 1.5 ₽ per minute) by invoice at the end of the billing month.

The free trial has no overage minutes, and no new minutes are added. You can make fewer copies with the remaining minutes — the service suggests how many — or activate a paid plan.

Are minutes charged for copies that fail the check?

No. Minutes are charged only for copies that passed the check. Instead of the ones that failed, the service makes free replacements — up to 5 attempts for each copy ordered.

The exception is when you manually made the check thresholds stricter than in the built-in presets (for example, a pHash difference from the source above 15 of 64 or SSIM similarity below 0.80): then copies that fail the check are charged like regular ones.

If you think copies failed because of a service error, message Support with the project name and we'll look into it.

What does “videos processed at once” mean?

It's how many source videos are processed in parallel: 1 on the free trial, 3 on Solo, 6 on Pro, 10 on Scale. The other videos in the run wait their turn and start processing as slots free up.

It doesn't affect the number of videos in one run: up to 10 on every plan except the custom plan.

What is the custom plan and how do I get it?

The custom plan is for those who need more than 10 videos per run or more than 12,000 minutes per month. Dedicated processing servers are set aside for your volume, with up to 50 videos per run. The price is calculated individually, from 24,990 ₽ per month.

To get it, message Support: how many videos you need at a time, your approximate monthly minute volume and how often you run jobs.

Which plan is right for me?

Work out your minutes per month: number of clips × copies of each × clip length in minutes. For example, 40 clips with 20 copies each, 30 seconds long, is 400 minutes — Solo is enough.

  • up to 750 minutes — Solo;
  • up to 3,000 — Pro;
  • up to 12,000 — Scale;
  • more than 12,000 minutes or more than 10 videos at a time — custom.

You can easily work out your volume with the calculator on the home page: it suggests a plan for you.

Payment

How do I pay for a plan?

There is no online payment on the site yet: Support activates your plan. Log in to your dashboard and message Support with the plan you need — they'll activate it in your dashboard.

Under the Terms of Service, payment is made by invoice through Support, and paid plans are prepaid.

Is there a discount for paying yearly?

Yes. When you pay for a year, you pay for 10 months and use the service for 12: Solo — 29,900 ₽ (was 39,900 ₽), Pro — 74,900 ₽ (was 99,900 ₽), Scale — 179,900 ₽ (was 249,900 ₽). Minutes are still credited every month according to the plan limit.

Can I change my plan?

Yes. Message Support with the plan you want to switch to: they'll activate it in your dashboard. Your projects and copies stay when you change plans.

Account and data

I forgot my password. How do I log in?

ClipClone has no passwords. Click “Log in” on the site and log in the same way as before: with Telegram, Google or a code sent to your email.

If the email with the code hasn't arrived, check the “Spam” and “Promotions” folders, and after a minute click “Resend code”.

If you've lost access to your Telegram or email, message Support: tell us which account you used to log in and which plan you have. We'll check and help you move access.

Who can see my videos?

  • Projects, source videos and copies are available only from your account.
  • The archive download link works once and is valid for 5 minutes.
  • Videos are deleted from the server when you delete the copies or the project.

How your materials are processed is set out in the Terms of Service.

What the service doesn't offer

Can I publish copies to social media directly from the service?

No. ClipClone makes and checks copies; you publish them yourself. The service doesn't have:

  • automatic publishing or connecting social media accounts;
  • a phone farm or device management;
  • export to cloud storage — copies are downloaded as an archive or one by one;
  • shared team workspaces: one account — one user.

Is there an API or a mobile app?

There is no public API for connecting to your own systems. There is no separate mobile app either, but there is an app in Telegram — the bot @clipclone_app_bot; see “Is ClipClone available in Telegram?”. The site works in a browser on both computers and phones.

If you need an integration for a large volume, message Support and describe your task — we'll discuss a custom plan.

Can I make versions of other people's videos?

Upload only videos you have the rights to: your own, a client's under a contract, or licensed ones. The user is responsible for the content of the videos and for how they are used — this is set out in the Terms of Service.

Copies made by the service don't give you rights to someone else's content.

Try it on your own clip

5 free minutes after your first login — about 10 versions of a 30-second clip. Passwordless login with Telegram or Google.
